The Attitude of Gratitude

Look up into the sky... it's beautiful. In the morning, the misty sunrise starts with pale ribbons of light, then bands of color, then brilliant sunlight. At noon, the sun is high -- unless the beautiful streams of cloud cover the sun. Even dark with rain, the sky is filled with beauty. Then at dusk, the starts to pale, but not until brilliant colors paint a goodbye. The darkness is filled with stars, the brilliant moon, the wisps of cloud across the sky. The hymn "How Great Thou Art" is a testament to this beauty and the faith it inspires. So often we complain about all these things: how early the sun rises, how late the sun sets, how cold or hot we are, how much rain, how many clouds. All are a gift, in a cycle of life that gives birth and growth, and yes, even death, to all that is on earth. How wise the Creator is. How grateful we should be. And there proclaim, "My God, how great thou art!"
